The Clare Island Ferry Company is owned and operated by Brian & Alan O’Grady, natives of Clare Island whose family have been operating the Clare Island Ferry service since 1880. Alan & Brian operate the largest and most modern ferries to Clare Island, fully certified by Failte Ireland and the Department of the Marine.
Alan & Brian operate a scheduled service to Achill (Cloughmore) every Wednesday to collect the doctor. Visitors can travel on this trip by booking. They also provide a charter service to Achill Island on demand.

In summertime, an extra service runs from Cloughmore on a Sunday, the times of the ferries are:
Wed: depart 09.30 from Darbys Point return 15.30 from Clare Island
Sun: depart 10.00 from Darbys Point return 15.30 from Clare Island
